This month, we’re highlighting a few of our hardworking employees: Driver, Kary Lauderdale, Customer Service Representative, Trinity Tyson, and Senior Customer Service Specialist, Tracey Swan. They each play an important role in making sure our operations run smoothly!

Kary Lauderdale

Kary has been driving for Hermann Services for 3 years and he’s recently been promoted to driver mentor. As a driver mentor, Kary helps new drivers with their onboarding and helps them learn our processes and procedures.

Things have been a whole lot better here than where I left,” he shares, highlighting the positive change Hermann brought to his life. He credits the company’s culture and the support he receives, particularly mentioning Christine VanHise, whom he sees as “like a big sister.” Christine, our Senior Manager of Driver Recruiting and Engagement, reciprocates the sentiment, praising Kary’s positive energy: “Kary is always a pleasure to speak to. If you ever want to brighten your day, call Kary for a conversation.”

One of Kary’s favorite memories at Hermann revolves around the company’s commitment to connecting with its drivers. “When they come to visit us from time to time, like at the safety meetings, I enjoy meeting new faces, like the dispatchers,” he says.

In his career, he’s learned the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and staying focused. “I try to keep a positive attitude and try not to get distracted,” he emphasizes. His journey at Hermann is more than just a job; it’s a life-changing experience. “This job turned my life around, it saved it,” he reveals. He credits his wife for encouraging him to apply, recognizing his potential despite his preference for working behind the scenes. Looking ahead, Kary aspires to become a mechanic. “Like if I chose to be an owner-operator, I could work on the truck myself,” he explained, showcasing his proactive and resourceful mindset.

Outside of work, his passions center around family. “Spending time with my grandkids,” he says. “I have a lot of grandkids. I try to have fun with them and see them whenever I can. I try to spend a lot of time with my wife and make memories.” He also enjoys travel, dreaming of destinations like Miami or California, though he admits he’s a bit of a workaholic.

Trinity Tyson

Trinity has been with Hermann Services for almost 11 months, and in that short time, she’s made a remarkable impact. As a Customer Service Representative, she’s built strong relationships with her colleagues and clients, quickly becoming a valued member of the team. “Her clients love her,” said Hector Comulado, Warehouse Manager for our Bordentown-Hedding Road warehouse. “There have been times when I needed stuff done that’s not even in her job description and she still volunteers to help. She’s helped me with things like our inbound and outbound schedule, activities for employees, and decorating the office.”

So far, Trinity’s favorite part of the job has been the people she works with. “Everyone I work with daily or see at company events makes me feel so comfortable and like part of a family,” she said. One of the top company events in Trinity’s eyes was the finale of our Summer Cook Off Series which was hosted at our corporate location in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. “I got to meet and connect with so many new people through food and games,” she recounted.

An interesting fact about Trinity that not many people may know is that she is a certified architectural drafter. If she could learn a new skill, it would be writing poems and short stories. “I think it would be a fun and interesting pastime,” she says, highlighting her creative side. Outside of work, Trinity enjoys reading and baking, “When I’m not working or out with friends and family, I can easily be found at home reading a book or testing out a new recipe.”

Tracey Swan

Tracey has been with Hermann Services for 2 and a half years and in that time, she’s accomplished so much. She began her career as a Customer Service Specialist, and within just one year, she was promoted to Senior Customer Service Specialist. In March, Tracey will take on a new challenge by transitioning to customer service on the transportation side. “When I first met Tracey, I told her that I see a lot of opportunities coming her way. This new chapter proves it,” said Hector Comulado, Warehouse Manager for our Bordentown-Hedding Road, New Jersey, warehouse. “She does a great job with her clients; they often send in compliments about her work and what a great job she does.

One of the most valuable lessons Tracey has learned throughout her career has been the importance of clear communication. “I’ve seen firsthand how effective communication can prevent misunderstandings and build stronger relationships with both coworkers and clients.” This lesson has shaped her approach to customer service and made her an invaluable part of the team.

Tracey’s journey at Hermann has been filled with moments of pride, but one stands out above the rest. “My favorite memory is winning the Customer Service Award during the 2023 Holiday Party,” she shares. Winning this award was a recognition of her hard work, dedication, and the high level of service she provides to her clients. It’s a testament to the effort Tracey puts in every day and the positive impact she has on those around her.

On a day-to-day basis, Tracey loves the ice cream trucks that visit our facilities in the summertime. “I look forward to them every week during the hot weather,” she said. Not only does it provide a refreshing break, but also a sense of community among her and her coworkers. These small joys help create an atmosphere that’s both productive and enjoyable.

Outside of work, Tracey has plenty of hobbies to keep her busy. She enjoys hanging out with friends, playing hockey, going to the driving range, and embroidering, she even flew a plane once! If she could add any skill to that list, she’d want to learn to play the piano. “I’ve always loved music, and I’d love to be able to create some of my own.”
