Dave Anderson is an amazing and top performing warehouse manager for Hermann, who excels at leading two warehouses – 83 Stults Road in Dayton, NJ, and 481 Blackhorse Lane in North Brunswick, NJ. He joined us full time in February of 1993 but worked part time for many years before coming on board.
Prior to working with Hermann, Dave Anderson was a landscape foreman. “My brother worked at 21 Distribution way and at that time Hermann had Ciba-Geigy as an account. Drivers would have to load their drums on pallets for the warehouse. So, at times drivers would ask if there were “lumpers” to help offload the freight,” he said. His brother would give him a call, asking if he wanted a bit of extra work, and Dave would come to the warehouse and offload for drivers.
“I caught the eye of the manager, Jim Denniston. He asked me if I wanted some part time work and then recommended me to the Clyde Road warehouse where I worked the Alberto-Culver account.
I enjoyed it, so after a few months I made the call – I wanted full time employment. And here I am 30 years later.”
Our President and CEO, Jeff Hermann, met Dave while working part time at the Clyde Road warehouse. He says, “From Dave’s passion to be a great mentor to the morale he created, it was a great introduction into Hermann and how Dave leads a successful team. I owe Dave a great deal of gratitude for his commitment to Hermann and making us a great organization.”
Dave is an integral part of Hermann Warehouse Corporation’s
operations, managing many employees and large accounts for the company. His most memorable moment was “when the L’Oreal Clark Manufacturing plant manager sent a letter to [Hermann’s] senior management, giving praise to me on a great job I was doing.”
Even Charles Capra, President of Hermann Warehouse Corporation, agrees that Dave brings a great work ethic. “Through the years, Dave has managed very large accounts and important customer relationships. Our customers realize great value in Dave’s hands on leadership skills. These skills have delivered many efficiencies and superior customer service,” he says.
However, it’s not just Dave receiving recognition. He’s proud to see his team members succeed and be promoted to higher positions. “I take pride in sharing my experiences and knowledge with others and seeing them do well,” he remarked. Even Kellyn Jibaja, one of his warehouse managers, notes how Dave has been an amazing coach, mentor, and boss.
Outside of work, Dave loves to barbeque – with several employees noting how incredible his food is – and give his time to the youth organizations of his community, such as Pop Warner football and AAU/USATF youth track and field. He’s also very proud of his home’s landscaping. On a personal level, Dave’s greatest accomplishment so far is that he and his wife could send their children to college.
We’re certainly thankful for Dave and the incredible work ethic and years of service he’s brought us!
