Jasmine started working at Hermann Services in 2021 as a customer service representative working in our logistics department. “I believe customer service is everything, so I combine my customer service with the love of my containers and eventually became a logistics coordinator,” Jasmine said.
Around twenty years ago, Jasmine was a single mom and looking for work. “I needed to make ends meet, and working in customer service for drayage was the perfect thing to get me into the industry – and start working right away,” Jasmine reflected.
She takes immense pride in her work, but something she’s most passionate about is being able to provide her customers with the best service, which then allows them to focus on other, more important things. “I love what I do, and I do what I love. I eat, breathe, and sleep containers. Along with providing top-notch service, my other goal is to not have demurrage and per diem,” she remarked. “Being able to accomplish all that makes my heart warm and fuzzy!”
When asked to provide a favorite memory during her time at Hermann so far, Jasmine couldn’t pick just one. In October of 2022, she attended the NJ Conference for Women. “Seeing all the women in leadership positions and being among other women leaders showed me just how much things have changed in business. It was inspiring!” she said. “Being in a male-dominated industry and seeing all the women in leadership roles at Hermann shows how much this industry has changed and how happy I am to be part of an organization that supports and empowers women.”
Another series of favorite events began with moving into the renovated corporate office, the “Old Timer” homecoming parade, and then the Grand Re-Opening. “Bringing everyone together that day and allowing them to see our wonderful office space – which I must say is amazing – was a great celebration of what the company has achieved and what they provide for their employees as a work
environment and for our clients.” She especially loves seeing the refurbished truck in the lobby and the historical pictures on the wall in the operations room.
When asked to use three words to describe Hermann Services, Jasmine provided the following:
Outside of work, Jasmine is a very natural and spiritual person, reading self-help books, and music. She also loves bowling, playing UNO, and volleyball. Her greatest success outside of work is her son. “Being a single, Hispanic mother and raising a son who is now 20 and has become an incredible young man, he is my motivation every day,” she said. “This has been such a lifelong project for me that has certainly paid off. Being able to say I did it on my own. I worked hard, put in all the hours, and even going so far as moving to make sure he went to a good high school were all parts of my success as a mother. I want him to find himself another organization like Hermann that believes in family first and gives back.”
We’re incredibly thankful to have Jasmine as part of our organization. The pride and dedication she puts into her work is felt by colleagues, customers, and partners. Thank you, Jasmine, for all your hard work and support!
